How Do I File My Certificate With the Bankruptcy Court?
After completing the course and receiving your certificate, you must file it with the bankruptcy court handling your case. Bankruptcy Logic does not file the certificate for you — this is your responsibility, or your attorney's if you have one.
What to File
You must file two documents with the court:
Your completion certificate from Bankruptcy Logic — emailed to you upon completing the course
Official Form 423 — Certification About a Financial Management Course — available for free at uscourts.gov
Both documents must be filed together. Filing the certificate alone without Form 423 may not satisfy the court requirement.
How to File
If you have an attorney: Provide your certificate to your attorney. They will handle filing with the court on your behalf.
If you are filing pro se (without an attorney): File both documents with the clerk of the bankruptcy court where your case is pending. Contact the court clerk for specific filing instructions for your district — procedures vary by court.
When to File
Chapter 7: Within 60 days after the date first set for your 341 meeting of creditors
Chapter 13: Before you make your final plan payment
File as soon as you receive your certificate. Do not wait until the deadline.
Where to File
File with the bankruptcy court where your case was filed. This is the same court district you entered when enrolling. Find your court at uscourts.gov/court-locator.

I missed the filing deadline. What happens now? Contact your attorney immediately. The court may close your case without a discharge. You may need to pay a fee to reopen the case. Do not delay — act as soon as you realize you missed the deadline.
